Stapling.-A desk-stapling machine of the kind having a frame a, two side plates b, a guide-bar d for the staple strips e; a handle f, and a spring punch g, is provided with a long spring i, attached at one end i<1> to the frame, and, passing over two guide-pulleys k, j connected at its other end to a pusher or slide which engages the staple strip and forces it forwards. When it is necessary to recharge the machine, the pusher is withdrawn by means cf two side arms l, l<1> which protrude through slots m in the side plates. These slots are upwardly curved at the rearward ends so that the arms are lifted and may be retained in end notches n while the new strip is inserted through the rear opening o.
