A document file, e.g. for large heavy drawings, comprises two confronting members 11, 12, two sets of pins 15, 16 each set being staggered in relation to the other set and a handle for opening one or both members 11, 12 to open position, Fig. 2, providing clearance between the two sets of pins, and to a closed position, Fig. 3, in which the pins overlap. The handle comprises two links 18, 19 pivoted together and to respective members 11, 12, which are biased together but are held apart in the open position by a slight upward folding limited by a bracket 27. An intermediate position, where the documents can be moved for selection without coming off the pins, is provided wherein the confronting members are located by the simultaneous engagement of two catches in indentations 36, 38 in a disc 28. As shown, recess 37 and a catch 35 hold the members in open position and recess 37 co-operates with a catch 34 in closed position. In a modification two recesses are engaged simultaneously by the catches 34, 35.
