Abstract

The grill has two sections, each with a grill plate, hinging together so that they can be brought into a position one above the other. The hinge allows the sections (12, 13) to slide to and from each other, and has locking devices (31, 33-36) supporting the top plate (14A) in a position parallel to but clear of the bottom one (14B). There can be two identical hinges on opposide sides near the rear edge of the grill. The hinges can each have a first part (25) attached to one section and forming a passage (26) across the grill plate, and a second one attached to the other, with a protrusion (31) fitting in the passage to allow both sliding and turning. The protrusion engages in a recess in the side of the passage to form the locking device.
