1,176,702. Azetine derivatives. GRUPPOLEPETIT S.p.A. 23 Feb., 1968 [15 March, 1967], No. 12231/67. Heading C2C. Novel ethers and thioethers of formula wherein R and R 1 are each alkyl, aralkyl, aryl or cycloalkyl and if one is cycloalkyl the other may be H, and X is O or S are prepared by reacting a compound of formula with triethyl-oxonium fluoborate. The product may be purified by forming the picrate salt and regenerating the free base with liquid ammonia. Pharmaceutical compositions having spasmolytic and sedative action comprise an above novel compound and a pharmaceutical carrier therefor.
