Abstract

1,176,196. Animal licks. ISAAC SPENCER & CO. (ABERDEEN) Ltd. 26 Aug., 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 40635/67. Heading A2B. A composition for making cattle or other animal licks comprises a water-sensitive setting agent, for example a calcium sulphate such as plaster of Paris, gypsum, or stucco, and at least one nutrient or medicament, for example limestone, bone flour, dicalcium phosphate, magnesite, urea, and sugar, which may constitute a major portion of the composition, trace ingredients such as iron, copper, cobalt, manganese, magnesium, and iodine, vitamins and drugs, and flavouring and sweetening agents. The composition may be formed into a cement-like slurry which may be cast into blocks or applied to walls from which the animal may lick.
