Abstract

1,175,403. Winding or reeling wire. SCHLOE. MANN A.G. 9 Feb., 1967, No. 38605/68. Divided out of 1,175,402. Heading B3E. Wire reeling apparatus includes a rotating laying tube through which wire is fed to be laid in a worm thread which rotates with the laying tube. A laying tube 63, carried by a rotating frame 64, directs wire W into the thread of a worm 65 secured to the frame 64 and enclosed by a casing 66. The pitch of part of the wall of the worm thread is adjustable. In another embodiment, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), the laying tube directs the wire into another part of the worm thread; theo utlet end of the laying tube is adjustable in inclination. The pitch of the worm may decrease in the conveying direction. The worm thread may be multistart. The turns of wire issuing from the worm thread may be carried away by three endless conveyer belts, 85, Fig. 5, or by a plurality of worms, Fig. 6 (not shown), spaced around the periphery of the wire turns. The wire turns are checked and tripped by an abutment 89 to fall into a collecting vessel 86. The apparatus may be vertically instead of horizontally arranged. In a further arrangement, Fig. 7, turns are carried by inner endless conveyers 107, 108 co-operating with an outer conveyer 105 and are turned over by passage up a guide 109 to fall into a collector 106. In another arrangement, Fig. 8, the turns are tripped by a member 119 as they issue from the worm thread 114 to fall on to a conveyer 115 thence to pass to a collector 116. A simple shoot or cam wheel or chain may replace the member 119. Alternatively the turns may be allowed to fall directly on to a slowly moving conveyer.
