Wire straightening apparatus comprises a cage C rotatable about its longitudinal axis, a wire W to be straightened extending longitudinally through the cage, a plurality of wire engaging members, such as rollers R, in the cage, a minimum of three carrying members 28, 28a, 28b, for the rollers R, circumferentially equi-distantly spaced and secured to the cage, means, such as arms 30, connecting each of the carrying members with a set of rollers R, whereby the latter are displaced longitudinally consecutively relative to the axis of rotation of said cage to define a helical path about said axis, the rollers R pressing on the wire to deflect it out of a line corresponding to the axis of rotation of the cage with the axis of rotation of the rollers R offset from the axis of rotation of the cage.
