1,175,358. Extruding concrete. A. G. BODINE. 11 Nov., 1966, No. 28496/69. Divided out of 1,175,356. Heading B5A. [Also in Division E1] A process for the production of extruded concrete articles, e.g. columns or road surfaces, comprises pouring concrete into a mould having open upper and lower ends, connecting the mould to an orbiting mass vibration generator, vibrating the mould at its resonant frequency and as the concrete sets moving the mould therefrom leaving an extruded concrete structure. Concrete 101 is poured from shoot 103 into mould 105. The mould 105 is vibrated by vibrator 110 driven by motor 115 and connected to the mould by " high Q bar" 108 which sharpens the resonance. The mould is slowly raised leaving a concrete column 107. In an alternative embodiment for moulding a road surface, the vibrator is mounted on a mould which is moved horizontally by a tractor leaving an extruded concrete slab.
