Abstract
1,175,032. Taking up slack in cables. ETABS. DE MAN. 1 April, 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 15610/68. Heading B8B. [Also in Divisions H5] In a system for guiding and taking up slack in cables 5 supplying power to. radiological apparatus 3, 4 mounted on a movable arch 1, the cables 5 are retained within a longitudinal groove in the arch by a flexible metal strip 13 which winds or unwinds from a drum 7 rotatable with movement of the arch 1, the cables being guided into and out of the groove by the metal strip adjacent the drum and by rollers 17. The strip 13 and the cables 5 are anchored to the arch 1 at the end supporting the apparatus 3, and the cable supplying the apparatus 4 extends thereto along the inside of the arch 1. The drum 7, belt driven from a motor 6 has teeth 8 on its flanges which drivingly engage teeth 9 on the arch 1, whereby movement of the arch is accompanied by a corresponding movement of the strip and cables.
