[Also in Division F4] In a beverage-brewing apparatus of the type wherein cold water poured into a receptacle 120 displaces hot water from a tank 125 which then passes from a spray outlet 151 through the brewing cartridge C, inlet and oulet pipes 128, 136 respectively are connected between the bottom of the receptacle 120 and the water-heating tank 125, and the spray outlet 151 is connected to the bottom of the receptacle, such that the pipe 139 can either connect the outlet pipe 136 to the spray outlet 151 as shown for delivery of hot water from the tank 125, or connect the inlet pipe 128 to the outlet pipe 136 as shown in dotted lines. In the latter position, hot water from an external source can be used for brewing by pouring it into receptacle 120 from whence it will be delivered directly by pipe 137 to the spray outlet 151.
