Abstract

A hot water central heating plant comprises a boiler 1 having mounted on its top front end a combined shunt valve and pump unit 7. Hot water from outlet pipe 13 passes either through shunt valve 11 and circulating pump 9 to outlet flow pipe 5, or through recirculating pump 10 and by-pass pipe 15 to be injected into the return water pipe 6 at the top rear end of the boiler and pass as a common pipe 16 to near the boiler bottom. A shunt pipe 12 returns a portion of the water from return pipe 6 to shunt valve 11 and outlet flow pipe 5 so by-passing the boiler 1.
