Abstract
1,174,969. Gas turbine engines. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. Oct.20, 1967, No.47905/67. Headings F1G and F1T. [Also in Division H2] A gas turbine engine comprises an alternator whose rotary armature and stationary field structures 27, 28 are respectively carried by the bladed rotor and bladed stationary structures 21, 22 of the engine. As shown, the armature structure 27 comprises an annular laminated wire 31 carried by the rotor first stage 21 of a low-pressure compressor 12 and having equispaced slots 33 receiving al. armature coils 32 which supply polyphase e. g. two phase power to anti-icing heating elements 25 embedded in a synthetic resin matrix of a rotatable intake bullet 24. The heteropolar field structure 28 comprises Cu. coils as carried by polepieces 36 retained by wedges 39 in an annular member 37 carried by a flange 38 forming part of the compressor stator first stage 22.
