Abstract

117,494. Barrow Hµmatite Steel Co., and Butchart, A. M. July 19, 1917. Foundry ladles. - Molten metal is conducted from a ladle to the moulds by a suspended tundish A having two openings E, F and adapted to be tilted so that either or both of the openings deliver the metal at will. The tundish is suspended from the ladle or from a separate carriage connected thereto and can be tilted to either side by a handle H. If the handle is not operated, both openings discharge. The tundish is lined with fire-brick and moulders' loam and has a basin C to receive the metal from the stoppered opening to the ladle. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 4048/08, [Class 83, Metals, cutting &c.].
