Abstract

1,174,562. Junction boxes. GREENWOOD AIRVAC CONDUITS Ltd., and B. D. HUGHES. 17 May, 1967 [17 Feb., 1966], No. 7068/66. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H1] An underfloor junction box comprises a rectangular base-plate 1 carrying a hexagonal pillar 2 at each corner, a lid-supporting frame 4, and a lid 5, screwed at each corner into the corresponding pillar, the height of the box being varied by C-shaped elements 3 of appropriate thickness between the pillars 2 and the frame 4. Fine adjustments of the height are made by a grub screw 10 in each pillar. Rectangular side walls (12) having knock out portions (14) providing cable receiving apertures, and cable shrouds (15, Fig. 4, not shown) close the box. Slotted plugs 11 close the threaded cable outlets in the pillars 2. In a modification, the C-shaped members are omitted.
