Abstract

1,173,848. Cigar and cigarette holders. M. DAVIES and A. T. MADAKBAS. 22 Oct., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967], No. 50024/68. Heading A2M. In a holder for cigarettes or small cigars having a hookah-type filter, a smoke inlet tube 4 - which serves to hold the cigarette 17 or cigar at its upper end 13 where it opens into a side wall of a bowl 1 - terminates at its lower end 9 not less than 2 mm from an opposing internal surface 11 of the bowl 1 and has an internal diameter at its lower end 9 of from 1.2 to 1.5 mm. The bowl 1 is formed of borosilicate glass and contains a liquid which may be water or spirits such as whisky or brandy. A vulcanized rubber stem 6, removably inserted in a smoke outlet 5, optionally includes an extension tube 16 which may be curled as shown or straight. Instead of being integral with the bowl 1 as shown, the tube 4 may be held in position by a vulcanized rubber bush (14). Other shapes of bowls 1 and tubes are disclosed.
