Abstract

1,173,500. Air filter. DUFAYLITE DEVELOPMENTSLtd. 15 March, 1967 [18 March, 1966]. No. 12097/67. Heading BIT. A filter, for removing paint from air extracted from spraying shops, comprises two or more. juxtaposed layers of honeycomb structure, made from strips of paper glued together along transverse lines, expanded and axially compressed to crinkle the walls of the individual cells, whose axes are relatively inclined in different layers to provide tortuous air paths. The layers are cut from a block of' sheets, along which glue lines extend obliquely while the cuts are made parallel to one end. The cell inclination may be 45 degrees after compressing. The paper may be. rendered resistant to fire, fungus and insects. A filter may comprise two or four layers, or a layer with perpendicular cells between two layers with inclined cells. The layers may be enclosed by a frame and protected by a grid.
