Abstract
1,171,750. Cartridge firing device. A. C. WARNER, and M. E. ALLEN. 7 Nov., 1966 [6 Jan., 1966], No. 22470/69. Divided out of 1,170,077. Heading F3C. A cartridge firing device includes a pivotally mounted hammer, a trigger slidably mounted for reciprocative rectilinear movement and having a shoulder extending substantially normal to the direction of movement of the trigger and an elongated sear pivotally connected toward one end to the hammer. The other end of the sear is undercut and engages the shoulder during the firing movement of the trigger to move the hammer through a predetermined arc during which movement the undercut end of the sear moves continuously relative to the shoulder to its trip point. To effect this continuous movement the lower surface of the sear has a rocking engagement with a portion of the trigger. The above described sear may be incorporated in the cartridge firing device as disclosed in Specification 1,170,077.
