Abstract

1,171,614. Portable containers; tipping casks. PORTER - LANCASTRIAN Ltd. 8 Nov., 1966 [2 Dec., 1965], No. 51143/65. Headings B8D and B8E. A beer container comprises cup-shaped ports joined in inwardly facing disposition to define a casing, and a flexible bag therein, the casing being apertured to provide entry for the bag and access thereto. The casing parts may have peripheral flanges and be joined by welding, bolting or a bayonet connection. Diametrically opposed bosses (22) support the container on a stand (26) wherein it may be fixed in a tilted position by a pin (28). Bosses on the casing parts receive a self-sealing coupling and a draincock. The casing parts may be of metal, e.g. mild steel or aluminium, with an anticorrosive coating, or moulded plastics, e.g. vacuum drawn from propylene.
