Abstract

1,171,555. Water heaters. FRIED KRUPP G.m.b.H. 2 March, 1967 [3 March, 1966], No. 9947/67. Heading F4A. A central heating boiler combined with a tap-water heater comprises a rectangular casing 3 in which are diagonally arranged a cylindrical firebox 1 and a tap-water heater 2. The firebox 1 comprises a combustion chamber 5 surrounded by a water chamber 4 and containing a heating coil 6 which discharges into the top space of jacket 4 from which a hot water pipe 15 is connected by branch 16 to the central heating circuit and by a branch 17 to the tapwater heater which has a coil 18 connected to the tap-water system at 19, 20. The boiler return pipe 24 containing a circulating pump 25 is connected to the coil 6 by a section 7 having ports 8 where it passes through the boiler wall. The pipe 24 is connected through a valve 23 to the central heating circuit return pipe 22 and to the water heater return 21. The coils 6, 18 may have a ribbed outer surface.
