Abstract

1,171,357. Low-lift trucks. ROLATRUC Ltd. 7 March, 1968 [23 March, 1967], No. 13829/67. Heading B8H. [Also in Division B7] A pallet truck comprising a steerable wheel assembly 3 is provided with tow bars and with a tow bar coupling mounted on the assembly whereby a plurality of similar trucks may be coupled together. As shown, each fork arm 1 is provided with a channel-section support 16 for a tow bar 14 which is adapted to be supported in the position shown when not in use and which may be withdrawn from the support to a towing position, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), in which a pin 23 engages a bridge piece 18 and the end of the bar engages an abutment 19. In the towing position, eyes 15 on the ends of the tow bars are engaged with a pin 13 extending upwardly from an arm 12 secured to the steerable wheel assembly 3 of a similar truck to couple the trucks in such a way that the steerable wheels of the following truck will follow the path of the steerable wheels of the leading truck. The leading truck of a train of such trucks may be power driven.
