Abstract

1,171,243. Liquefied gas storage containers. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. 25 April, 1968 [1 May, 1967], No. 19923/67. Heading F4P. A gravity or spring-loaded non-return vent valve 12 for a low temperature liquefied gas e.g., helium hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen container (not shown) at substantially atmospheric pressure is located within an ambient air heated heat exchanger 16, whereby the vented vapour is warmed prior to its discharge to atmosphere through downwardly directed ports 34. The exchanger 16 comprises a labyrinth of concentric cylinders 22, 23, 24 or a helical tube and the outlet ports 34 may be restricted by porous plugs.
