Abstract

1,171,209. Switchgear cubicles. BROOKHIRST IGRANIC Ltd. 4 May, 1967 [25 May, 1966], No. 20810/67. Heading H1N. A metal switchgear cubicle comprises a plurality of chambers 10-18, one above the other, each receiving a housing 48 (Fig. 5, not shown) for control equipment and having a front panel 26- 34, and a wiring chamber extendingverticallyalongside chambers 10-18, doors, individually associated with the housings 48, being hinged to one side wall of the cubicle and closing on to one edge of the respective front panel 26-34. A further door 24 hinged to the other side wall closes across the wiring space on to the other edges of the front panels 26-34. The housings 48 have locks (48c) and handles (48h) (Fig. 5, not shown) and carry switches 50 operated by slides on the front panels. Connectors (52, 54) in the wiring chamber allow connection to vertical bus-bars (not shown) located in the space behind housings 48. When several cabinets are mounted side by side and back to back upper and lower plates 6, 8 are removed and horizontal bus-bars installed.
