Abstract

1,171,147. Resistors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 8 Dec., 1966 [9 Dec., 1965], No. 54895/66. Heading H1S. A winding of resistance wire on a coil former 13 is arranged in a dish-shaped recess 12 in a thin sheet metal plate 11, the recess being closed by a flat sheet metal cover 14 welded to the plate in order to protect the resistor. Insulating plates 19, 19<SP>1</SP> are located between the coil former 13 and the metal plate 11 and the former and cover 14. Holes are provided in plate 11 for the terminal leads 16, at least one lead passing through both insulating plates and coil former to fix it firmly in position, the apertures having nipple-shaped embossings 17 containing a filler compound 18 to surround the leads. Inside the housing the leads are guided and mounted by oblong recesses or ribs (20, Fig. 3, not shown) in the cover 14. For small resistors having thin wire terminal leads these recesses or ribs may be omitted.
