Abstract

1,170,549. Spray producers. A. S. BROWN & CO. (MFG.) Ltd. and E. P. CROME. 2 Aug., 1968 [18 Aug., 1967], No. 38139/67. Heading B2F. A liquid spraying device comprises an air cylinder 10, a receptacle 14 for the liquid, a piston 16, a spring 18 adapted to be compressed by displacement of the piston, the air cylinder having a nozzle 26 in the wall adjacent to the end to which the receptacle is attached, a transverse partition 22, an absorbent pad 124 supported on the partition on the level of the nozzle opening and attached to control disc 28, which pad is separated from contact with the wall of the cylinder except at the tongue portion 224 so that on rotating the control disc about the axis of the cylinder the part of the pad contacting the cylinder wall may be moved into and out of registry with the nozzle opening. A sleeve 42 may have vertical slots 142 cooperating with the pin 40 on the stem 38 to prevent accidental discharge when the pad and opening are out of register, the sleeve being supported in the siphon tube 36 which is held between the receptacle and the partition. Sealing means, e.g. a rubber washer retained by the pin in the inoperative position, may be provided for sealing the receptacle.
