Abstract
1,170,116. Electrolytic capacitors. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. 27 Jan., 1967 [27 Jan 1966], No. 4220/67. Heading HIM. In an electrolytic capacitor with an aluminium anode, an electrolyte which retains a low specific resistance at low temperatures comprises a solution in water of a dicarboxylic acid, a substance which will lower the freezing point of the electrolyte, phosphoric acid and/or phosphate, the content of phosphate ion in the electrolyte in the operative finished capacitor being in the range 0.01 to 1% by weight. An exemplary electrolyte is prepared by mixing stated quantities of adipic acid, glycol, water and diammonium phosphate and neutralizing with ammonia.
