Abstract

1,169,979. Portable power tools. STANLEY WORKS. 4 Dec., 1967 [13 March, 1967], No. 55040/67. Headings B3C and B3N. A portable electrically driven drill, nut runner, or screwdriver, comprises a housing formed by a nose portion 12, a motor portion 10, and a handle portion 14, a planetary gear train and clutch in portion 12, a trigger switch 30, a reversing switch 28, a rectifier 27 in handle portion 14, and a double shrouded cooling fan 64 made of plastics material, press fitted on to the shaft 36 of armature 32. Handle portion 14 comprises a part 16, and a cover 18, fixed thereto by screws 20. Motor portion 10 includes a sleeve 70 of magnetic material, which is provided with a pair of permanent magnet segments 72, 74 to serve as a stator for motor 26.
