1,169,582. Building materials containing aminotriazine-aldehyde resins. SUDDEUTSCHE KALKSTICKSTOFF-WERKE A.G. 12 Jan., 1967 [11 Feb., 1966], No. 1735/67. Headings C3N and C3R. [Also in Division C1] A building material comprises an inorganic binder and optionally a filler, and a resin modified with a sulphite or a sulphonic acid or with rongalite (HCHO.NaHSO 2 .H 2 O) being a reaction product of formaldehyde with an aminotriazine having at least 2 NH 2 groups, which may carry the sulphonic acid group. The binder preferably contains alkaline earth metals in excess of one atom per acid group in the resin. In examples resins are prepared from 30% formalin and melamine and sodium pyrosulphite (A and B) or acetoguanaminesulphonic acid (D) or m - sulphobenzoguanamine (E) or from hexamethylolmelamine and rongalite (C). Resin A is added in amounts of 0À01-4 wt. per cent to concrete, of 6-22% to calcium hydroxide mortar, of 1À7% to plaster of Paris, and of 1-5% to Portland cement; 2% of resin C is added to concrete; xylolith is prepared from calcined magnesite, sawdust, 50% aqueous MgCl 2 .6H 2 O and resin A.
