Abstract

1,169,022. Brick panels. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 27 Jan., 1967 [1 Feb., 1966; 28 June, 1966], Nos. 4462/66 and 28980/66. Headings E1B and E1S. A cavity wall brick panel having alternate courses of bricks slotted at 15 so that vertical wires of a mesh 14 can pass therethrough is built up on a jig 2 comprising a base plate 5 adjustable side members 4 and a support tube 3 over which the neck is hung, so that each edge is close to a foam rubber mat 13 on the baseplate, the gradual increase in weight as the wall is built up depressing the mat and thus stressing the mesh. The mesh in the two skins of the wall is interconnected by wire ties. Two single skins walls may be formed by omitting the ties and cutting the mesh after the bricks have been built up. A single skin wall may be formed by suspending a single mesh from a clamp removably mounted on the side members. The panels may be formed with castillated edges of half a brick depth so that adjacent panels may be interconnected by slotted bricks spanning adjacent edge'wires and filling the gaps. Various forms of wall junction and corner blocks are described.
