Abstract

1,167,276. Air humidifier. PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN N.V. 16 Jan., 1968 [19 Jan., 1967], No. 2287/68. Heading. B1R.. An air humidifier comprises a porous mat 1 of synthetic material which is continuously wetted by water and traversed by the air to be humidified, the mat being clamped at its upper end between plates 3 and 5 which together form a gutter to which water is continuously supplied. The plates 3 and 5 are releasably clamped together and the clamping pressure is such that the pores of the mat between the extensions 4 and 6 of plates 3 and 5 are not closed and even distribution of water over the entire cross-section of the mat is attained. The plate 5 has overflow openings 10 (not shown) and the unit may be suspended in the humidifier by means of slots 9 in extensions 8 at the ends of the plate 5.
