Abstract

1,166,918. Blasting. INTERMOUNTAIN RESEARCH & ENG. CO. Inc. 7 Feb., 1967 [28 July, 1966], No 5794/67. Heading E1F. In the filling of a water-filled borehole with a flowable explosive slurry of a density greater than water, the slurry is pumped through a conduit initially extending to adjacent the bottom of the borehole and the pumping of slurry is continued as the conduit is so withdrawn up the borehole that the discharge end of the conduit is always some way below the top of the slurry as it is filling the borehole so preventing excessive intermixing of water and slurry.
