Abstract

1,166,903. Mounting sheets on printing cylinders. DRUCKMASCHINENWERK VICTORIA VEB. 30 June, 1967, No. 30342/67. Heading B6C. A printing cylinder carries two longitudinal parallel tensioning bars for independent mounting and tensioning of a support sheet and a master sheet. Fig. 2 illustrates a printing cylinder 1 in which, at each end, a doublearmed lever 3 pivots about a pivot point 2; one arm of the lever 3 is fork-shaped and carries a ring 4 in which a tension bar 5 which may rotate in one direction only is mounted. On the ring 4 is located a pin 6 which projects and is guided in a curved slot 7 of a friction ring 8 fixed to the end of the cylinder. The second arm of each lever 3 carries the second tension bar 9. In use, a support sheet 10 is wound around bar 5 and tensioned (Figs. 1, 3, not shown); the levers 3 are swung clockwise to the position shown in Fig. 2, the journal 12 of the bar 5 and also the pin 6 sliding in slot 7 so that the pre-set tension of sheet 10 is retained; a master sheet is then wound around bar 9 and tensioned, a compression spring 14 holding each lever 3 in the position of Fig. 2.
