Abstract

A lifejacket comprises two superimposed layers A of flexible closed-cell plastics foam joined together at the margins to form an enclosed space which is inflatable. In Fig. 2, the layers have a head hole and the inner and outer margins are joined by tapes D, C. Space E is inflated by valved mouthpiece L or by compressed gas from a bottle. A fabric backing is bonded to each inner surface of layers A.
