[Also in Division B7] A rotorcraft rotor blade is made of glass fibre reinforced plastics and has an end loop 4 which is enclosed in a metal shell comprising two halves 2, 3, the metal/plastics interface having a layer 8 with a lower coefficient of friction than the loop or the shell. The layer 8 may be of a fluoro-carbon resin and may be applied by spraying, sintering or in the form of foils. The loop 4 may extend round a sleeve 5 cast with the part 2 or 3, a bolt being passed through the sleeve to anchor the blade to the rotor hub.
