Abstract

A force or load transmitting connecting element is provided at its ends with bolt eyes for receiving bolts which secure the connecting element to another structural component also provided with complementary bolt eyes or for securing a wing to an aircraft body. The bolt eyes must be capable of taking up compression and/or tension loads. For this purpose at least one reinforcing bridging web is located between at least two bolt eyes. The bridging web extends with its main plane perpendicularly to the central axes of the bolt eyes and loops at least partially around at least one of the bolt eyes. The bolt eyes are constructed as metal bushings. Thus, the bridging web braces the bolt eyes relative to each other.

Description

The invention relates to a web component for a connecting element of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.

Such a web component is already known from DE-A 1 531 374, which is part of a fitting enclosing two loop-like blade roots of a rotor blade. The loops of the blade roots, together with the bushings attached to the fitting, serve as bolt eyes for receiving bolts for fastening the rotor blades to the rotor head. The fitting fixes the loops in their mutual position on the one hand and on the other hand protects the particularly highly loaded leaf root against damage caused by erosion etc. The fitting is therefore not used to transmit the forces to be introduced into the component by the connection element.

It is an object of the invention to design a web component of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it contributes significantly to the transmission of the tensile and compressive forces which occur from the connecting element into the component. This object is achieved with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

The advantages of the invention are, in particular, that the web component with its semicircular encirclement of the bolt eyes through the half-loop and its positive adaptation to the straps transmitting the forces and through the design of the support struts stiffen the connecting elements to a high degree. This makes it possible to make connection elements with bolt eyes arranged far in front of the component plane dimensionally stable and to prevent them from being pushed away and buckling.

The web components are inserted into the connecting elements in the plane of the belts which are guided around the components and extend into the component, so that in general one connecting element is provided with two web components. Depending on the number of bolt eyes present in one plane, one or two half-loops are arranged according to further developments of the invention, the web component with two half-loops preferably being provided for two bolt eyes attached at different distances from the component. To further stiffen the web components, in a further development of the invention they are provided at least on one side with a cover which connects the half-loops, support struts and the belts surrounding the bolt eyes. Advantageously, the entire web component consists of fiber-reinforced plastic and all parts are connected to one another and to the belts by gluing.

  • 12 shows a section through the connection element according to FIGS. 8 and 9 along the line XII-XII of FIG. 9.

A known connecting element 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, which is designed without stiffeners, has two bolt eyes 2 and 3, which are arranged offset to one another. The bolt eyes 2 are mounted in an upper belt 4 and have a kink in relation to the belt heavy line. The bolt eyes 3 are almost in the line of gravity of a lower belt 5. The belts 4 and 5 are integrated in a spar 6. If a pressure force 7 acts on the bolt eyes 2 and a tensile force 8 acts on the bolt eyes 3, there is a risk that the bolt eyes 2 dodge in the direction of an arrow 9, whereby the entire connection element 1 is deformed.

A web component 10, which is shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, is used to stiffen the connecting element 1. Two web components 10 stiffen the connecting element 1 by approximately half-encompassing the bolt eyes 2 and 3 in the width of the straps 4 and 5 with the parts 11 and 12. The web component 10 is not designed as a full part for reasons of a lighter construction, but is for connecting the parts 11 and 12, which comprise the bolt eyes 2 and 3 and for support against the spar 6, composed of support struts 10a, 10c and half-loops 10b, which are preferably consist of long fiber tapes impregnated with synthetic resin.

Laterally attached covers 13 are used for stiffening. The material for the web component 10 is suitably laminated fiber-reinforced plastic. To better absorb the supporting forces that occur, the covers 13 can consist, for example, of a winding skin made of fiber-reinforced plastic with crosswise windings.

B. in Kunstharz gebettete Kurzfasern, ausgefüllt. As can be seen, the connection element is only stiffened between the bolt eyes 2 and 3, while the interior of the fork-like connection element remains free. The sectional view of Fig. 7 shows that the straps 4 and 5 are made as loops of fiber-reinforced plastic, with a middle reinforcing strap 4a and 5a supporting the metal bushes 2a and 3a of the bolt eyes 2 and 3 under compressive forces. The spaces between the belts 4 and 4a and 5 and 5a are filled with fillers 4b and 5b, z. B. filled in synthetic resin short fibers. Reinforcing parts 14 are provided for better introduction of the forces from the connecting element 1 into the spar 6. The web components 10, bolt eyes 2 and 3, covers 13 and belts 4 and 5 are interconnected by gluing.

Another embodiment is shown in FIGS. 8 to 12. Here, a connection element 20 is shown, which has two axially identical bolt eyes 21 with metal bushings 21a and a bolt eye 22 with a metal bushing 22a arranged between them. For the stiffening between these pin eyes, two mirror-like web components 23 are provided, one of which is shown in FIGS. 10 and 11. Each of the two webs 23 surrounds a bolt eye 21 in a semicircular shape and is supported with a cover 24 against the bolt eye 22. The sectional view in FIG. 12 shows the fundamentally the same structure of the connecting element 20 and the webs 23, as described above with reference to FIG. 7.

In a similar way, differently shaped connection elements can be provided with web components with at least two bolt eyes by at least roughly semicircularly enclosing them around a bolt eye and thus stiffening the connection element. It is also within the scope of the invention to use other materials. For reasons of lightweight construction, however, fiber-reinforced materials are preferably used, with the highest strengths being achieved with carbon fibers.
