Abstract
1,166,354. Reflecting objectives. ERNST LEITZ G.m.b.H. Sept.8, 1967 [Sept. 8, 1966], No. 41210/67. Heading G2J. To avoid the necessity for shade tubes in a reflecting objective a mirror system with two reflecting surfaces r4, r7 and several refracting elements L1, L2, L3, is provided to form an intermediate image at D1 where a first diaphragm defines the field of view, and a lens system L6- L11 forms a final image, a second diaphragm D2 being arranged in the plane of a real image of the entrance pupil i.e. a diameter of lens L1. As shown lenses L4, L5, form a field lens system and are mounted in a support carrying the diaphragm D1 The lenses L4, L5, and the aperture in lens L2 are rectangular as indicated by the dotted lines. Neutral density wedges or polarizers may be provided in the plane of the aperture stop to regulate the light transmission. Optical data are provided for the example shown.
