Abstract
1,166,280. Temperature responsive actuating elements. DOLE VALVE CO. Dec.30, 1966 [Jan. 18, 1966], No. 58395/66. Heading G1D. In a temperature responsive actuator in which thermal expansion of wax 15 in a base cup 11 acts on a resilient boot 14 to force a power member 13 outwardly through a guide 12, a brace ring 24 is provided to urge the resilient boot into the guide and around the power member to prevent the entry of water or foreign materials into the actuator around the power member especially when unusually low temperature conditions cause contraction of the wax 15 to such an extent that the boot may tend to be drawn into the cup 11 leaving cavities round the power member 11.
