Abstract

1,166,078. Racket frames. CARLTON SPORTS CO. Ltd. 7 Dec., 1967 [17 Dec., 1966], No. 56583/66. Heading A6D. A metal racket frame 1 has holes, 5, punched therethrough for stringing which are bounded by integral flanges 6 formed from the metal of the frame and the outside of the frame is conveniently formed with a groove 7 to accommodate the strings between the holes. Each hole 5 contains therein a sleeve 8 of plastic material e.g. nylon 11 which extends through the hole overlying both of the edges of the metal surrounding the hole. In the figures each sleeve is formed with an outwardly directed flange 9 at one end. Alternatively the sleeves may have an outwardly directed flange at both ends. The racket frame may be of any suitable construction, e.g. as described in Specifications 1,112,028, 1,112,029 and 1,112,030.
