Abstract
1,165,798. Making heat and wear resistant components. H. YAMAMOTO. 20 Nov., 1967 [14 March, 1967], No. 52719/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division B2] A method of making a heat- and wearresistant component comprises making the body of the component from a plain carbon or low alloy ferritic steel, forming fins on a portion of the body which is subjected to wear, and depositing a heat- and wear-resistant material between adjacent fins, the body and fin materials having a higher heat conductivity than the heat- and wear-resistant material. A blade member of a crusher for hot sintered masses is made from a body 7 of plain carbon steel and fins 8 of soft steel are positioned on the body. The spaces between the fins 8 are filled with a heat- and wear-resistant material, such as 13% manganese steel, 12% chromium stainless steel, 12% chromium tool steel, or a cast steel containing 2À8-3À0% C., 0À5-1À5% Si, 1À0% Mn, 15À0-28 0% Cr, 1À0% Ni, 0-0À5% Mo, 0-2À0% W. The method is also applicable to other components of the crusher such as the crushing plates and guide bars. In the latter, the fins comprise rods 14 welded to the top and side surfaces of the bar body 13.
