Abstract
1,165,150. Reciprocating pumps. LINDE A.G. Dec. 29, 1966 [Dec. 31, 1965], No. 58111/66. Addition to F1A. A cylinder block 3 engages a control valve plate 2 and the pressure exerted by the block on the plate is controlled by applying pressure to chambers 12, 15, 18 so that the pressure is applied to steps formed on the shaft 4 in which the block rotates and which engages the outer end face of the block through a thrust bearing 6. The pressure to the chamber 18 is controlled by a valve 20 which opens at a preset pressure in the duct 17. The chamber 18 may also be connected through a similar valve to the duct 14 or the two valves may be inter-connected to selectively connect one or other duct to the chamber or the chamber to a discharge line. The Specification also states that the valve may be sensitive to the speed of rotation.
