Abstract

116,472. Karpeles, F. Jan. 17, 1918. Invalids' tables.-A table for invalids &c., which is adapted for use on beds as a dining table, toilet table, or reading desk, is provided with a removable meal tray and a mirror and reading-desk slope, either of which can be moved into position for use, when the meal trav is removed. The table is provided with detachable legs and roller fittings, and with compartments and drawers. The meal tray 10 is provided with carrying-handles 12 and sockets 13, 14 for glasses, bottles, &c., and fits between flanges 11 on the body 1 of the table. The reading-slope 17 and mirror 16 are arranged below the meal tray, the mirror being mounted on the back of the slope which is hinged at the front 25 to a frame 22 hinged at the rear 23. The reading slope is brought into use by tilting it about the hinges 25, and the mirror is brought intd use by tilting the frame 22 about its hinges 23. The rear of the reading slope may be raised by levers operated by knobs 36. The detachable legs 3 have rollers 4 to run on side rails on a bedstead, and may be replaced by frames carrying rollers adapted to move over any bed surface. The body 1 of the table is provided with drawers, opentopped receptacles, and receptacles provided with sliding covers.
