Abstract
1,164,657. Metal working presses. MASCHINENFABRIK HASENCLEVER A.G. 8 Aug., 1967, No. 36404/67. Heading B3H. A multi-tool press has each tool 13 actuated simultaneously by a separate hydraulic piston 19 connected through a liquid link 10, 11 to a pump piston cylinder 8 whose pistons 6 are connected to a common drive member 2. This member comprises a horizontal carriage driven by a crank-shaft 5. The press is used in particular for forming workpieces, clamped between upper and lower dies (35), Fig. 3 (not shown), into pipe T-pieces 14 by a multiple piercing operation. Carriage 2 has two further pistons 16 working in retraction cylinders 15 connected to the inner ends of the working pistons 19 by conduits 17, 18 which are maintained under continuous pressure by a pump 20, relief valve 21 and accumulator 22. A pipe 23 leads through a solenoid-actuated control valve (30), Fig. 3 (not shown), to the clamping cylinder 34 for the upper die. An hydraulic system is described, Fig. 3 (not shown), controlled by cams (29), (38) on the crank-shaft 5. Pump cylinders 8 are each connected through a suction valve (25), Fig. 2 (not shown), with a reservoir (26) in the base of the press.
