Abstract
1,164,517. Electromagnetic reed armature relays. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 17 March, 1967 [18 March, 1966], No. 12670/67. Heading H1N. An electromagnetic reed relay has sealed reed contact units 2 in a thermoplastic former 1<SP>1</SP> having end pieces 5<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>1</SP> formed with ribs 12<SP>1</SP> and grooves 13<SP>1</SP> with associated recesses 14<SP>1</SP> to receive connecting strips 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP> for the contacts and coil terminals. Barbed studs 15<SP>1</SP> on the strips 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP> are pressed into the recesses 14<SP>1</SP> and ends 16<SP>1</SP> are bent over and soldered to coil ends brought through slots 17<SP>1</SP>. The bottom ends 18 of the strips may be used as soldering tags or plugging pins for printed circuits. Magnetic screen covers 10<SP>1</SP> are retained on the former 1<SP>1</SP> by catch portions 11<SP>1</SP> engaging projections 9 on the end pieces 5<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>1</SP>. The strips 7 may be made of ferromagnetic material or brass. A similar relay (Figs. 1 to 3, not shown) may have a single reed contact unit.
