Abstract

Tables, slides, and carriages.-A vertical shaft supporting a magnetic chuck 4 for a grinding or like machine is mounted in an upper conical bearing 16 and a lower guide bearing 30, supported in an angularly-adjustable bracket 10 pivoted at 12 to a vertical slide 14. Driving means, comprising a toothed wheel 32 and a clutch 36, are located between the two bearings.
