[Also in Division E1] A method for the deposition of a layer 19 of bituminous material under water on the bottom or talus of a waterway comprises leading a stream of the liquid bituminous material to the bottom or talus of the waterway and giving each particle of the liquid bituminous material under the water surface at least once a flow in an upward direction. In the method shown the flow reverse is given by a bended tube 12 with upper edge 14 at a higher level than the highest point of the inner bend 13 of the bended tube. The upper edge 14 has great length compared with the diameter of the supply conduit 11.
