Abstract
1,162,762. Hatch covers. ASSOCIATED CARGO GEAR AB. 24 Jan., 1967 [1 Feb., 1966], No. 3457/67. Heading B7S. In a multi-section hatch cover, sections such as 3, 4 interconnected in pairs by hinge 7 operated by pressure-medium motor 8 are characterized in that each section is provided at the corners remote from the hinge with wheels 5, 6 adapted to co-operate with guide-ways 2 at the coaming 1 and that teeth 10 and catch mechanisms 13 are provided to lock the wheels to the guide-ways so that the locked wheels act, as fixed pivots for the pairs of sections, the operation of the motor 8 thus causing the pairs of sections to " walk " along the guide-ways, each pair of sections being free to walk along the whole length of the coaming. Instead of being locked by teeth 10, the wheels may be locked by similarly spaced gaps (11), Fig. 2 (not shown).
