[Also in Division C7] An herbicidal composition comprises an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a ohiloro- or bromo-substituted C 2 to C 4 aliphatic acid, e.g. sodium trichloroacetate, and 1 to 5% by weight of the substituted aliphatic acid salt of an alkali metal nitrite, e.g. sodium nitrite as corrosion inhibitor. Many examples of herbicidal salts are specified. Prior art discloses the use of chiromate as an inhibitor.
