Abstract

1,162,115. Endless conveyers. BARBER ELECTRICAL SERVICES Ltd. 14 Dec., 1967 [17 Sept., 1966; 23 Feb., 1967], Nos. 41616/66 and 8677/67. Heading B8A. An arcuate endless conveyer belt 1 in the form of a flattened truncated cone is driven over terminal rollers 2, 3 each comprised of a plurality of coaxial wheels 4 of substantially identical diameter and each wheel is rotatable about a shaft 5 independently with respect to the others. The conveyer is driven by a frustoconical drive roller 6, at the outer end of the terminal roller 2, in conjunction with a pressure roller 12. The pressure roller 12 is adjustable in pressure and position to tension the belt. A guide roller 10 attached to the drive roller has a peripheral groove to engage a guide belt 11 fitted to or formed integral with the conveyer belt 1. The guide belt 11 is also engaged by a plurality of freely rotatable guide wheels 15 spaced around the outer edge of the belt 1 between the upper and lower surfaces thereof. Rollers 17 are diametrically opposed about the rollers 15 to engage the outer surfaces of the belt and maintain the guide belt 11 in the guide wheels 15. The rollers 17 are mounted on eccentric spindles to permit adjustment of the pressure on the conveyer belt.
