Abstract

1,161,090. Valves. MAENAKA VALVE WORKS CO. Ltd. 21 Dec., 1966, No. 57155/66. Heading F2V. A gate valve comprises a closure member formed from two similar plates 17, 18 with springs 20 disposed in symmetrical positions between the plates to press them on to seats 15, 16 respectively, a supporting ring 19 with spigot screws 22 received in grooves in the plates 17, 18, projections 23 on the ring 19 received in guide grooves in the valve casing, and a nut 25 co-operating with a screw spindle 26 for moving the closure member, the spindle 26 being receivable in the space between the plates 17, 18. Four, six, or eight springs 20 can be used.
