Abstract

1,160,887. Hand holds. HAPPICH G.m.b.H. GEBR. 15 Sept., 1966 [15 Sept., 1965; 8 Jan., 1966], No. 41306/66. Heading A4U. A hand hold inside a vehicle comprises a steel strip 2 sheathed in rubber 3 and anchored by a guide block 5 and screws (4), the block and screws being concealed by a flap 7 of a plastic envelope 6 covering the rubber sheath. The flap is gripped in a frame 8 which has claws (12) adapted to be pressed into recesses in the block 5. In a second embodiment (Figs. 7, 8, 9) the frame (18) is welded to a covering on the wall of the vehicle and the flap is constructed of layers which are welded together in the marginal zone (9). The latter is clipped under the frame (18). The hold may be attached to a padded roof frame strip (22), the flap (7) being flush with the padding (Figs. 11-14). The frame and block may be formed by a single injection moulding (Figs. 15-19), grooves (31) being cut into the underside of the frame to receive the marginal zone of the flap. In the hold of (Figs. 20-24) the steel strip is disposed in a longitudinal duct (34) in a flattened plastic tube having two further ducts (35, 36) and the flap is formed by the upper part of the plastic tube.
