Pivoted-jaw. wrenches; handles and shanks. - A pipe wrench, of the type having an outer jaw pivoted on a nut or block screwing on to a solid shank formed with the inner jaw, has a tubular handle which may be screwed on to the solid shank to strengthen it and increase the leverage. As shown, the jaw d is pivoted at c on a lug c on the nut or block b, which is tapped to engage the screw a<1> on the solid shank a. A tubular handle j engages preferably the same screw a<1> or an extension thereof. The inner jaw g on the end of the shank a is conical, and cupped at the end as shown at h.
